Executive AirShare Doubles Order for Phenom 300 Aircraft
KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 20, 2008 --- Executive AirShare, a Kansas City, Mo.-based fractional aircraft ownership company, today announced that it has doubled its order for Embraer Phenom 300 lights jets to four firm orders and four options. The company had previously announced two firm orders and two options for the light jets. Executive AirShare also holds ten firm orders and ten options for Phenom 100 very light jet aircraft.
"Demand for fractional ownership of business aircraft continues to grow in the markets we serve and we are expanding our order for Phenom 300 aircraft to keep pace with the needs of our owners," said Keith D. Plumb, who was named president and chief operating officer of Executive AirShare in November. "The range, speed, comfort and luggage-carrying capabilities of the Phenom 300 are an ideal match for our owners' mission requirements and we look forward to adding both the 300 and the Phenom 100 to our fleet."
The Phenom 300 has the largest cabin volume in the light jet category, comfortably accommodating up to nine occupants in an executive seating layout. The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000 feet (13,716 meters) at a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.78, and is designed for short-field takeoffs and hot and high operations. Its range with six occupants will be 1,800 (3,334 km) nautical miles with NBAA reserves, allowing customers to fly nonstop from Kansas City to New York, Miami or Los Angeles at a lower cost than competitive aircraft. The Phenom 300 appeals to corporations flying large turboprops and smaller light jets.
Executive AirShare currently operates a fleet of 15 aircraft-four Beechjet 400A, five Super King Air 350, five King Air C90B and a Beech Baron-for owners in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. The company will begin taking delivery of its Phenom aircraft in 2010.
According to Robert D. Taylor, chairman of Executive AirShare, the company's regional fractional aircraft ownership concept, in which aircraft are based in the same cities as their owners and owners have access to their aircraft on a per-day basis, creates an experience that most closely replicates full ownership.
Executive AirShare's fractional owners are provided with the use of the aircraft for an entire day, unlike national ownership plans that fly multiple clients to different locations on the same day on the same aircraft. By scheduling an aircraft to only one owner per day, Executive AirShare is able to adapt to changes in owners' intraday schedules, offering complete flexibility and convenience.
Executive AirShare owners purchase a fractional interest in a specific aircraft, and sign a five-year management agreement that covers monthly fixed costs and hourly operating expenses. In return, owners are entitled to a number of flight hours and days each year to use as they wish, and Executive AirShare takes care of all the details including hangar rental, insurance, pilots' salaries and training, fuel, engine and airframe maintenance, and cleaning and stocking of the airplane.
Founded in 2001, Executive AirShare is based in Kansas City, Mo., and also operates out of Wichita, Kan., Tulsa, Okla., Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas.
